Senior Finance Consultant (Cork, West of City)

Our client, an established, successful, and forward-thinking Professional Services Firm, is seeking a Senior Finance Consultant to join their team. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, including the preparation, review, and analysis of financial results. You will also provide commercial insights to clients to help drive profitability and advise on other business matters, such as process and control improvements. Effectively acting as the Financial Controller for your clients within the Retail industry.

The ideal candidate will have superb attention to detail and possess genuine inquisitiveness about business performance. You will be solution-driven and keen to make a positive impact for your clients, all while enjoying a good work-life balance.

 ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Review financial reports, management accounts, and KPIs for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage and analyze working capital requirements for clients.
  • Identify opportunities to increase gross margin through financial analysis and benchmarking.
  • Cost control initiatives across various areas of spend.
  • Evaluate and implement effective internal controls.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop a team of Accountants and trainee Accountants.
  • Other ad hoc duties and projects as required.

ABOUT THE PERSON

  • Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years PQE.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
  • Effective multitasking ability and the initiative to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude, excellent attention to detail, and a desire to genuinely solve problems for the Company and their clients.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence in a customer-facing capacity.
