Are you an experienced partnerships and operations manager with payments expertise looking for a new opportunity to join a global leading e-commerce organisation? A new role has been created to join their Money Movements team who manage the flow of funds from buyers to sellers. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the Payments network of relationships including with card brands, processors, and payment service providers while leading all aspects of operations for those partners.

Our client is the leading global marketplace for unique and creative goods that connects millions of entrepreneurs with millions of buyers around the world. This role will form an integral part of the Money Management Team who are at the forefront of managing the flow of funds from buyers to sellers, ensuring transactions are processed rapidly and efficiently.

This is initially a 15-month contract role (potential for permanency for the right talent), offering an excellent opportunity to accumulate valuable experience in a highly positive work environment. It will operate on a hybrid basis (1-2 days per week) in their new state of the art office space in Dublin city centre. Our Client is open to meeting people who may be looking for fully remote and or / flexibility with respect to being on site.

About The Team

The payments team facilitates the highest stakes customer experience. Whether it’s facilitating a checkout from a buyer who’s purchasing a gift for a loved one or paying out millions of sellers who run their own business on our platform. Critical to these customer interactions is the core ability to capture funds from buyers and then transferring that value on to sellers. The Money Movement team manages this critical function – maximizing for speed, efficiency, and cost. The team is also actively growing the businesses core processing capabilities to ensure that we can reach more customers in new countries, while adding support for their local currencies.

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced partnerships and operations manager with payments expertise to lead all aspects of partner relationship management, daily operations, and strategic development. As the Partner Operations Manager you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the Payments network of relationships including with card brands, processors, and payment service providers while leading all aspects of operations for those partners. This role will be a key member of the payments team, working alongside Product, Engineering, Treasury, Risk, Finance, Support, Legal, and Accounting teams to execute and support our global payments strategy. Main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and maintain positive relationships with key partners within the Payments ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify, drive, and resolve partner incidents.
  • Be responsible for existing and develop new partner and payments operations processes to ensure accountability and performance against contracted service levels.
  • Collaborate with the finance and analytics teams to supervise and forecast payment partner costs and identify cost of sales efficiencies.
  • Work with analytics team to define and create data set to feed on-going KPI reporting.
  • Work closely with legal teams to lead contract negotiations and ongoing regulatory and compliance requirements related to payments vendors.
  • Identify and develop opportunities with existing partners to expand and improve the payments platform.
  • Contribute to the businesses comprehensive global payments strategy in the dynamic payments space.
  • Monitor competitive position and implement changes with partners to foster the businesses Payments products, services and strategic objectives.

ABOUT THE PERSON:  

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of partner management, strategy, or business development experience and 3+ years working in the payments industry; experience working with e-commerce and two-sided marketplaces a plus.
  • Ability to lead and run cross-functional projects and interact across diverse roles including engineers, business partners, and senior leadership.
  • Deep analytical skills to help drive the development of reporting, monitoring tools and other business processes to improve operational payments functions.
  • Strong written and verbal collaboration skills and can thoughtfully articulate and detail operational issues and insights to internal/external partners and senior leadership.
  • Understanding of the regulatory complexity of operating within the global payments industry.
  • Comfort with the business and legal aspects of partnership and vendor contracts.
  • A passion to dig deep and develop domain expertise.
  • A trust in and commitment to the Companies vision, mission and values.

Additional information:

  • Comfort with the business and legal aspects of partnership and vendor contracts (partner management).
  • Ability to lead and run cross-functional projects and interact across diverse roles including engineers, business partners, and senior leadership (confident facilitator).
  • Deep analytical skills to help drive the development of reporting, monitoring tools and other business processes to improve operational payments functions (operational excellence).
  • Preference to candidates local to Dublin as they will be reporting at least once a week at the Dublin office. As noted above our client is open to meeting with people who may be looking for fully remote or additional flexibility with respect to 1-2 days per week on site.
