Software Engineer (PHP)

Barden are delighted to partner with the Software Engineering Director of a Global Business who essentially build the Tech & Tools that allow millions of Buyers connect Worldwide.

We are supporting them on some key hires:

• Software Engineers (4-8 years’ experience)
• Senior Software Engineers (8+ years’ experience)

You’ll have the chance to engage with every facet of the organization’s web-stack, predominantly centred around PHP, complemented by data analysis using MySQL. These are 15 month contracts, offering an excellent opportunity to accumulate valuable experience in a highly positive work environment. It’s a Hybrid role, the team comes into the Dublin City Centre office 1-2 days per week.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Here you’ll get to learn and iterate in a world full of high impact changes to our clients’ payments platform on a Global scale.
• You’ll need to think deeply about the payments eco system, payments processors, database sharding, replication, performance, stability, metrics, integration resiliency and more!
• Daily you’ll juggle the responsibilities of pushing code with monitoring and dashboard inspecting.

ABOUT THE PERSON:

• Strong PHP experience, preferably in an Agile environment
• You can write basic SQL queries for fetching and analysing transactional data.
• You’re comfortable using Agile methods, like picking up stories/tasks from a project (Jira) board.
• You are passionate about delivering clean, readable, and tested code.
• For the more senior engineers, experience with Big Query, MySQL and the likes of Google Suite, Workday and Slack, are also desired.
