Barden is delighted to partner with the CTO of a leading tech company to help appoint talented testing professionals for their global Engineering Hub in Cork, Ireland. They are embarking on a transformative journey by expanding their offerings to include software subscription services alongside their existing hardware products. We are in search of an experienced Software Test Lead with a strong background in Cloud (AWS) Testing. Your role will involve spearheading innovative projects and providing guidance to QA teams. You will work closely with the Senior Test Engineering Manager, who oversees the testing strategy for Mobile Apps and manages the Cloud environment. This hire marks a significant strategic initiative for the company in Ireland.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Outline the test engineering strategy for our client’s AWS cloud environment.
- Offer timely updates on testing progress to key engineering stakeholders.
- Efficiently manage priorities and establish clear expectations while handling multiple demanding tasks.
- Lead and mentor both onshore and offshore test engineering teams, providing guidance and assistance.
- Take the lead in defining and overseeing the release Signoff process for our client’s mobile applications and cloud releases.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and provide mentorship to members of the test engineering team.
- Contribute to shaping the test automation strategy for our client’s mobile applications and cloud environment.
- Actively collaborate within multi-disciplinary Agile teams, embracing Agile principles, methodology, and tools.
- Assist in defining the testing methodologies utilized to validate our client’s mobile applications and cloud releases.
- Play an essential role in the team’s daily manual and automation testing endeavours.
ABOUT THE PERSON:
- Proven excellence in communication, technical proficiency, and leadership within the realm of testing.
- Robust experience in Cloud Technologies, with a particular emphasis on AWS.
- Extensive background in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of software QA methodologies, processes, and tools.
- Demonstrated creativity and adept problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Hands-on familiarity with source code control, CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions), and debugging utilities.
- Expertise in utilising test management tools and various test automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Postman, Playwright, Appium, Gherkin, Cucumber, Jira Xray).
- Strong commitment to advocating quality within application and cloud engineering teams, fostering transparency in reporting.
- Experience with Mobile Apps (iOS & Android) is a bonus.

This position is hybrid, situated in Cork City. For individuals residing outside the Munster Region, flexible remote work options can be arranged. Strong salary & benefits on offer for this position.
