Tax Manager

An exciting opportunity for a tax manager to join a great tax team within a global pharmaceutical group headquartered in Dublin. Tax is a critical function within the business and as tax manager you will have a varied role across compliance and advisory.

About the position

• Management of the Irish tax compliance process
• Management of local domestic Irish tax audits, including employment taxes.
• Liaising with service providers.
• Research legislation and case law to substantiate various positions taken on tax returns;
• Management of the R&D credit process
• Management of the preparation of the global transfer pricing documentation, including collaborating with internal and external advisors to prepare the annual transfer pricing reports and memos;
• Analysis and filing of transfer pricing reporting requirements, including Country by Country (“CbCr”);
• Project management of the identification and implementation of software programs to automate the tax function, where appropriate;
• Support the finance and legal teams on day to day tax matters such as VAT and payroll 
• Research certain tax issues and prepare tax technical documentation to support tax positions taken by the company and communication of same to management, and
• Partner with business leaders, finance, treasury, legal, and external advisers on business initiatives and tax planning matters.

 About the person

• Qualified accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor 
• Minimum of five years’ experience in corporate tax 
• Well organized with excellent attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills and ability to research complex issues
• Self-motivated – able to work both individually and as a member of a team
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of the business
• Ability to build effective working relationships with all levels of the business
