Junior Supply Chain Specialist (County Cork)

Here in Barden we are delighted to be partnering with our client, a growing and unique business, in their search for an ambitious Junior Supply Chain Specialist to work closely alongside the Director and wider team on a number of key projects as the business continues to grow.

This is a unique opportunity for someone to kick-start their career in the Supply Chain & Procurement space.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Carry out assigned tasks as directed by the Procurement Director.
  • Ensure accurate creation of Purchase Orders (POs) for all purchases.
  • Allocate POs correctly to specific phases, stages, activity areas, and jobs.
  • Obtain documentation for all products and materials and deliver them to the Health & Safety Advisor or relevant deputy.
  • Assess and maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels as necessary.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to confirm delivery dates and ensure timely and complete deliveries.
  • Provide Stores with updated information on planned deliveries.
  • Communicate details of outstanding items and estimated delivery dates to Sites.
  • Address continuity of supply issues promptly and seek support for resolution when necessary.
  • Follow up and finalize returns and credit notes as applicable.
  • Process credit card payments as needed and maintain an updated visa card spreadsheet.
  • Assist Accounts with queries when required.
  • Uphold and ensure compliance with Procurement Procedures among personnel.
  • Manage Supplier Register and databases for key suppliers.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers to maintain high performance standards.
  • Aid in reviewing and reporting supplier performance or procurement program performance.
  • Support in identifying, sourcing, and onboarding new suppliers.
  • Assist in training all Procurement staff to meet required standards.

ABOUT THE PERSON:

  • Relevant degree and a minimum of 1-2 years of supply chain or procurement experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and positive attitude
  • Ability to deal with various different stakeholders
