This role is a key hire within this newly created team unit and forms part of an overall organization-wide Recruitment strategy which factors in key consideration such as Mobile Software QA Leadership, Embedded Software Engineering and Cloud Engineering opportunities at their growing Cork office.
The ‘Senior Manager’ within Test Engineering for Mobile Applications will work closely with the newly appointed ‘Mobile Engineering Director’ to help embed this new Technology Roadmap into the fabric of our organization. You’ll be an influencer and a collaborative individual who loves to challenge the ‘status-quo’ and is passionate about the modern approach to the application of QA Testing ideas.

About the role:
- Reporting into the newly appointed ‘Mobile Engineering Director’ you’ll bring fresh ideas to enhance our organization’s Mobile application landscape.
- You’ll be empowered to conduct comprehensive reviews and audits of the organization’s mobile applications and cloud-based system.
- Responsible for ensuring that the organization’s mobile applications exceed user expectations. A significant emphasis on delivering exceptional user experiences is crucial.
- Lead teams and communicate plans to achieve the above by designing and implementing proof-of-concepts and reference implementations.
- Collaborate with the VP Engineering, CTO, and counterparts in Cloud and Embedded Systems to develop a comprehensive test engineering vision for the organization’s mobile applications, covering the entire end-to-end process.
- Work cross-functionally to promote the utilization of standardized tools, practices, and technology stacks to foster widespread adoption within the organization.
About the person:
- You’ll bring a strong level of passion for and experience in Software test engineering.
- Ideally the successful candidate will hold expertise in mobile application development for both iOS and Android platforms, with a specific emphasis on interacting with embedded systems.
- It would allow you to add instant value to this key role if you had a broad understanding of striking the right balance between test automation and quality assurance techniques to ensure an outstanding experience for our users.
- Proven track record in prioritizing user experience (UX) and ensuring quality through automation of consumer mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms.
- In-depth technical proficiency in UX with strong technical design skills.
- Proficiency in working with APIs and microservices.
- Familiarity with test frameworks and methodologies like BDD (Behavior-Driven Development)
- Proficient in incorporating test engineering within DevOps, CI/CD, and automation frameworks, along with utilizing modern software engineering best practices.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub, GitHub Cloud, GitHub actions, and Jenkins at a professional level.
- Additional experience with consumer embedded systems is highly desirable.
